What you will do

Let’s take a walk through the streets of Kolkata, India. Imagine being surrounded by the hustle and bustle, while you queue up outside a street food vendor as a local chef cooks you up a fresh Kolkata Egg Roll. Well imagine no more!

Utsa will teach you how to make the perfect Kolkata Egg Roll and serve up a fresh batch of Bengali-style Masala Chai ( ‘Tea’ ), all from the comfort of your kitchen. During this experience, Utsa will take you on a trip down memory lane as you learn about the history and origins of this popular street food delight!

What you'll need to bring


Simple ingredients found at home:

  • Eggs
  • Oil
  • Onions and cucumber
  • Plain flour
  • Salt, sugar, chaat masala (indian spice), and tomato ketchup
  • Green chillies
  • Lime
  • Black tea ( bagged or loose-leaf, decaf when possible)
  • Milk / milk alternative
  • Sweetener
  • Cardamon, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves


Additional Notes:

  • Tickets should be purchased on a per person basis and NOT per household.
  • Upon booking, a detailed list of ingredients and utensils will be shared in advance of your experience.
  • The experience will be hosted online through Zoom. Check minimum requirements.
  • Private group bookings are available for a maximum of 15 people.
